The Marlin 6 with a lockable suspension fork and uncomplicated 1x drivetrain is a cross-country mountain bike for efficiency and off-road fun. Although mountain biking is his favourite discipline, thanks to the possibility of attaching a pannier rack and side stand, it is also an excellent option for the daily commute to work.
It’s the right bike for you if…
… you have just discovered off-road biking and are looking for an affordable mountain bike that offers a wide range of gear ratios for various purposes on and off-road.
You get this equipment
A lightweight aluminium frame with internal cable routing to protect the shifter cables and for a clean look, plus powerful hydraulic disc brakes and a hassle-free 1×10 drivetrain from Shimano that eliminates the need for a front derailleur, contributing to the bike’s clean look and intuitive operation. Thanks to the wide gear range of the cassette, you have all the gears you need for steep climbs and steep descents. There is also a suspension fork that can be locked using a lever so that you don’t waste valuable drive energy on flat terrain.
Our last word
The Marlin 6 comes with upgrades that are noticeable on every ride, such as the precise and smooth-shifting Shimano drive. Extra-sturdy double-walled rims increase robustness, while powerful hydraulic disc brakes offer extra braking power so that you can easily master even the roughest adventure on the trail, in the city and everywhere in between.
Why you will love it
- As much as necessary, as little as possible: With the 1x drive you have all the gears you really need.
- Brake levers with a small reach increase braking comfort for riders with smaller hands on smaller frame sizes (XXS, XS and S).
- Marlin models in frame sizes XXS to S come with a curved top tube and a lower standover height to make it easier for smaller riders to get on and off.
- Mounting options for luggage racks and kickstands make it easier to attach practical accessories that turn your mountain bike into a robust commuter.
- Like every model in the Marlin family, it’s backed by our lifetime warranty.
Does my bike have a curved top tube?
Smaller frames (XS and S) have a top tube that curves just before the seat tube. This design allows for a lower standover height, accommodating smaller riders who will find it easier to mount. The larger frames (M and ML) have a straight top tube as taller riders usually don’t have an issue with standover height.
A fit for every rider
Marlin comes in seven frame sizes to suit riders of any height, and Smart Wheel Size ensures you’re on the fastest wheel that fits. The smallest sizes even come with short-reach brake levers and narrower handlebars that give smaller riders better comfort and control.
Lots of technology, attractive price
The Marlin not only looks good, it also handles great. It’s packed with features typically only found on more expensive bikes, such as the stylish frame with internal cable and brake line routing to protect the cables from the elements.
Suspension fork lockout
Locked undercarriage means the fork remains rigid, increasing drivetrain efficiency. Perfect for longer road stages where efficiency is more important than absorbing hits.
Luggage Rack Eyelets
Going on a big tour? Luggage rack eyelets make transport tasks a breeze.
Bontrager stem technology lets you attach your gear directly to the stem for a clean look and maximum ease of use.
We lay the brake and shift cables in the frame – a simple and clean affair. And it just looks good!
Rear side stand mount
Chainstay mounts allow for the installation of a jiffy stand that supports bikes of all sizes and stays out of the way when not in use. Gone are the days when you always had to lay your bike down or lean it against it.
